Frequently asked questions.

Updated

What is financial spreading?

Spreading moves a counterparty's financial statements into one standard chart of accounts, so that every period and every company compares line for line. TrustPlus does it from the statements you upload and returns the finished spread in under five minutes, down from around three hours by hand.

Which file formats can be uploaded?

PDF, Excel, Word and image files. Native text, scanned pages and photographs of a printout are all read, the statement pages are located for you, and several periods go in at once, as one document or a dozen.

Does it work on statements in other languages?

Yes. The document is translated cover to cover, notes included, and the spread comes back in your working language.

How accurate is the extraction?

Better than 98% at line level, and every figure carries the document, page and line it came from.

How is the 98% accuracy measured?

At line level, against tens of thousands of our own test sets, each one a set of statements with its confirmed spread. Every extracted figure is compared with the confirmed value for the same line and period, and a line counts as correct only when the value, sign and unit all match.

How are the lines mapped to our chart of accounts?

Each line is mapped to your own standard account names, with the counterparty's industry taken into account. The mapping improves with every spread your team completes, and your analysts confirm the result.

Does it handle consolidated or group accounts?

Yes. Where the accounts include consolidated statements, the consolidated figures take priority in the spread.

In what format does the spread arrive?

In your own Excel template, with your column and tab layout mapped once, or as JSON over the API. The spread stays fully editable, and the ratios are computed from the three statements to the set defined for the counterparty's industry.

Does it connect to our credit or loan systems?

Yes, as an option. You can connect your systems over the API, which returns each spread with its source citations, so the figures land in your credit or loan system with no re-keying.

How long does it take to set up?

A few days on our default templates, or a few weeks when we map your own spreading template first.

How is it priced?

Pay per use, with a rate that depends on your volumes.

Your portfolio gets spread to the last name.

Your smallest counterparties receive the same spreading and analysis as your biggest names.
